About myself

Welcome traveller on the network

My homepage likes to offer useful information about me or general topics. Additionally there are download possibilities for small software and hardware projects by myself. To ease navigation there is a navigation bar on every page. In my experience the following pages are of special interest of visitors:

About me

A short note about me: I am 37 years old and I'm working for 1&1 Internet AG in Karlsruhe. I finished my university degree in electrical engineering at the University Ulm before. Last year I moved from Weingarten near the lake of constance to Karlsruhe. In the meantime I finished my student research project with a topic about embedded Linux in the OMI department of the university Ulm. I also finished my diploma thesis.

Recently I was working for the SUSE LINUX company for over 6 years and lived in Nürnberg. I worked for the IT department. My jobs were running the SUSE Supportdatabase, the SUSE maintenance and a bunch of internal tools. But the biggest part of my work was the SUSE Trouble ticket system (see below).

SuSE Trouble Ticket System

My main job at SUSE was maintaining, programming and enhancing the SuSE Trouble Ticket System, a software based on a DB2 database. The SuSE Trouble Ticket System manages the customer requests coming via e-mail or by telephone and also holds a customer database. There was even a report about that in the german linux journal Linux Magazin. It was issue 4/2001, in the meantime available online (SuSE internal trouble ticket system with DB2). Even IBM had a success story about the STTS online. There was even a picture of myself on this page.

My voice

If you want to, you can even listen to my voice, either as RIFF wav (~ 50 kByte) file, or as mp3 file (~20 kByte).

History

My homepage is available in the internet since 1995. The oldest version you can find in the internet archive is dated from january 1997. I even had an english page. A long article about the history of my homepage is available, too.
